The MA Internship in International Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management offers the opportunity to study core modules whilst enabling further academic preference towards either the tourism or hospitality and event management sector. There is a strong focus upon employability within the service sector industries throughout the course and the management abilities required to work and succeed in this demanding and dynamic industry.

Employment and Careers after completion of program

Hospitality graduates are able to find employment in the areas of catering, conference and events management. They also work within the tourism and leisure sector, the entertainment sector and in facilities management and food service management.

There are also relevant roles throughout the public sector in universities, hospitals, transport and the armed forces.

Some of the large chain hotels or restaurants offer graduate-management programmes, providing a fast-track to management positions and experience in a range of operations.

Cyprus and Europe in general has a very strong tourism industry. 

Tourism industry in Europe:

One in ten enterprises in the European non-financial business economy belonged to the tourism industries. These 2.4 million enterprises employed an estimated 12.7 million persons.

Enterprises in industries with tourism related activities accounted for 9.2 % of the persons employed in the whole non-financial business economy and 21.5 % of persons employed in the services sector.

This translates in a high demand for skilled professionals in the travel and tourism industry.

In Cyprus, almost 25% of foreign worker permits in 2017 were given to Indian nationals .  This translated to nearly 19,000 work permits.

Duration and Fees:

3 semesters – total one year.

First semester – classroom.  

Second and Third Semester – Internship in real world setting.

Annual Fees – Euro 10,500 – There is a bursary and additional reduction for students enrolling before April 30.  For eligible candidates, the tution fees will only be Euro 6,500.

Monthly cost of living will vary between 250 to 400 Euro.

Documents checklist: (Postgraduate Applicants)

– Bachelor degree & transcripts.  If degree is awaited, processing can commence now and a conditional letter of acceptance can be issued.

– School leaving certificate & mark sheet

– English language qualification (IELTS or IGCSE or any other equivalent).  If you have completed your education in English, provide evidence of same.

– Personal statement

– Curriculum Vitae (CV)

– Two reference letters

– Passport copy, minimum validity 2 years
