Medical Council of India (MCI) which is also known as the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) is a licensure examination conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) in India. MCI Examination is compulsory for those Indian students who have pursued MBBS from abroad, now for students who are pursuing MBBS in India also. 

A person is eligible to give the MCI only thrice. A candidate who has acquired 50% marks in an MBBS degree is eligible to give this examination

  • MCI Screening Test is conducted twice a year.
  • The Medium of Instruction is English.
  • There is a total number of 300 MCQs which are further divided into 2 sections. Each section is 150 marks.
  • In MCI Screening Test, there is no negative marking.
  • A candidate who has acquired 50% marks in an MBBS degree is eligible to give this examination.
  • There are no bars on the number of attempts for the MCI Screening Test.
